Bartholin Gland Cysts


Most of the time, Bartholin\'s gland cysts are not infected. In some cases, however, they can be caused by an infection, or they may become infected. Your doctor may want to check the fluid in the cyst. Most infected cysts, called abscesses (say \"ab-sess-es\"), contain the normal bacteria that are found on your skin. Some infected cysts, however, are caused by bacteria (also called germs) that is transmitted sexually.

You may notice a round, painless or slightly tender bulge in one of the vaginal lips, near the opening of the vagina. It may stay the same size or may slowly grow larger. Cysts that get infected are usually very tender. In more severe cases, walking or sexual intercourse may be painful. Your doctor will look at the area to see if you have a cyst and to find out if it\'s infected.

We suggest that you work up to 11 minutes of Sat Kriya (contracting full mul bhand on \"Sat,\" releasing on \"Nam\"), followed by a relaxation. Then she should do the Immune Booster segment from our Yoga House Call DVD. The Breath of Fire through the left nostril exercise should be done for 11 minutes. As an auxiliary technique please try Sitali Pranayam thinking Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung on the inhale and on the exhale.

If she is open to lifestyle suggestions you can give her these additional recommendations: in terms of diet she should eat more alkaline. It would benefit her to eat more raw foods for the enzymes. Cut out coffee, sugar, meat, alcohol, and excess salt as well as dairy products.

There is a very good homeopathic remedy for this called Silica. If she has a good homeopathist nearby she could ask about it.
